I’ve been told not to sell to moms because they won’t buy. It’s okay if they “happen” to be a mom, but they must self-identify as a business woman. What the wha? I actually buy A LOT of things! If you only knew…
I’ve been told I “should maybe” serve moms because I am a mom and I have a proven track record as a mom but not as a business owner…so I can’t serve business owners. Really?
I’ve been called a quitter because I no longer worked with someone who masqueraded as a coach and really wasn’t one.
I’ve been made fun of for having too big a vision, and too small a vision.
I’ve been told that I will never be a “hard-core business woman” if I want to build my business around my family. Can someone please tell me what a hard-core business person is? I’m pretty sure I do not want to be that.
I’ve been told that prevention doesn’t sell.
I’ve been asked to sell weight loss.
Yada, yada, yada.
But none of that matters. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, however I want, wherever I want, and with whomever I want!
I am an entrepreneur. And that’s the glory of being an entrepreneur.
I would strongly encourage you to do the same. DO that which you LOVE. And do it with confidence and gusto!
Why in the world would I have a mentor who preaches limitations when I preach that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE?
Why would I work on Mondays when the house is in chaos, we need groceries, and one of my four boys is home 50-75% of the time anyway?
Why would I serve who you say I should serve?
Why would I stay with a “coach” who misrepresented herself and was hateful?
Why would I let someone else predict or limit my potential success based on their perceptions and beliefs?
Why would I take any other votes on my vision (and the adequacies or inadequacies of it) when I KNOW there is no WRONG vision?
Why would I not do everything I can to prevent disease or behavior-related long term illness by not engaging in and SHARING prevention?
It just doesn’t make sense.
Work one day a week selling gluten free peanuts to elephant trainers if you want.
I REALLY don’t care! It is none of my business.
And I’m going to do what I want to do also!
Why the heck else be in business?
You can be miserable working for any number of companies out there in Corporate America and you won’t have to worry about hiring, firing, marketing, sales, collections, building a website, filing quarterly taxes (they’ll be automated by your employer), copywriting, legal protection, finding awesome support staff, and so on. It’ll ALL be taken care of for you.
So, please, by all means, if you’re going to do this entrepreneur gig, go ahead and BLISS THE F*CK OUT!”

Sorry about that. I do not curse often. But it has been a rough morning. And I don’t even have “rough mornings.”
Yet my 7 year old has been vomiting and having explosive diarrhea since 3AM and it feels pretty rough.
But really, if you are a mom and you are an entrepreneur – God bless America. God bless the world!
You get to WRITE YOUR TICKET!
You can mother. You can bring home the bacon. You can fry it up in a pan. You can stay home with your babies when they are sick without asking anyone for permission. And you can outsource accounting to another mother!
This puppy – this gig right here – entrepreneurship – this is your ticket to freedom.
You get to enjoy
- unlimited income
- personalized business planning
- customizable scheduling
- unlimited down time, free time, family time, and you time
- doing whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want, however you want, with whomever you want,
- serving clients you absolutely LOVE
- in a location you LOVE
- with business partners you love
- doing special projects you love
- utilizing your gifts in service to others, and
- making the world a better place
and so on, and so on.
If what you are doing is not working as an entrepreneur then try something new and different.
You WILL figure it out!
If you build your dream biz they will come.
Go out and get the support you need to make your business profitable at whatever level you desire.
Then hire help to run the biz so you can enjoy the freedom you desire, and that you started a business for in the first place.
If anyone tells you that you cannot do “it,” or that “it” doesn’t make sense, or that “it” isn’t practical, or whatever else they believe you cannot do, then bless them with love and FIRE them. And if it is a family member or friend, then distance yourself from them.
That is not coaching and it is not loving, and it will keep you stuck, confused, and small. It will rob you of everything you desire.
Surround yourself with fans, supporters, encouragers, real coaches, open-minded mentors, gutsy friends, wealthy people, and visionaries.
THAT will fuel your growth.
And THAT will soothe your weary soul.
No whiners, unbelievers, complainers, committed-to-staying-broke-as$ peeps, excuse-makers, workaholics, or wet blankets in your inner circle, Mama.
You are here to do GREAT things!
And THAT will slow you down.
Here’s the deal:
I am a mom first. I passed up going to medical school because I understood my passion for family and parenting before I had a family and children of my own.
And now I am designing a REAL business around my family helping other women do the same. PERIOD.
I have a 7-figure vision and I fully intend to bring it to fruition working part time, 3 days per week and one weekend per month. I will spoil my clients immensely even though multiple business coaches have recommended AGAINST it. I meet my VIP (working-woman-MOM) clients at luxurious resort locations worldwide for luxurious healthy living immersion retreats to design and refine their lifestyle businesses.
And I don’t give a flying flip whether you call yourself a mom or a business woman, or what other people think about what you or I do.
It does not matter.
Mindset is everything.
But I digress.

Because I know that when you were pregnant you sacrificed your favorite foods, sleep, and certain imbibements, medications, and sweeteners for the sake of your baby. I know that you had back and hip pain. I know your stomach and boobs became indescribably big. I know you couldn’t sleep, had chest pain, and might have even experienced acid reflux, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, incontinence, and seemingly all control of your gorgeous body.
I know your insides basically came out when you brought your precious little one into the world. And you were never the same.
I know you managed to not only survive but somehow you maintained a high level of functioning on 2-4 hours sleep during the months and years you nursed and fed your infants. I know that you cried when you weaned them, when you dropped them off at Mother’s Day Out or pre-school, and when you took them to kindergarten for the first time. I know you couldn’t relax and lost sleep when they had their first sleepover or went away to camp for the first time.
I know how powerful your emotions were when you realized this was a different, more powerful kind of love, and that you will always love your child no matter what. I know how flustered you were that time the Tooth Fairy did not show up. And I know how you feel when your babies hurt. I know what’s it is like when they take off alone for the first time in the family vehicle, or go on their first date.
I know how sleepy you feel when you’ve been up all night washing sheets, towels, undies and pjs, scrubbing carpets, bathing them and wiping their forehead with a warm wash cloth because they got the stomach bug. And I know how it feels when you send your well children off with their dad for the train ride up Pike’s Peak or to the State Championship Basketball Game out of town while you hold down the fort at home or at a hotel with your sick baby or child.
I know how it feels to forget to send the cookies to school or to buy clothes from Target because you are already there for baby goods or birthday gifts, and you only have the babysitter until 2:00 PM. I know why you run out the door the instant your traveling, 12-hour-day-working husband returns home because you have an infant and two toddlers all to yourself, God bless their cuteness!, and you are about to go nuts.
And I know about a lot of other things. Bless you. I know.
And that is why I want to hug you and offer gratitude today for all that you do. Because I know.
Today I would also like to thank all of the the hard-working fathers and nurses out there!
