I specialize in helping women entrepreneurs design a life you don’t need a vacation from by losing weight (or reducing clutter), making more money, and creating a business you love. Last month I took off for a time of reflection and relaxation. And I kept finding myself working. Which is a really good sign! It means I don’t really need a vacation. My daily routine supports and sustains me, and I enjoy my life and my work. This is not to say everything is perfect, it is just to say that I’ve set things up in a way that feels really gooooood, and I admit, it has taken a while to grow a business this way. But it has been worth it!
That is one of the great things about being an entrepreneur…
You can decide what you want to do and when and how you want to do it.
Are you taking advantage of that? I hope so!
I’ve noticed that is often not the case. It seems as if many women (and men) are overworked and overwhelmed. Including entrepreneurs. It is such an easy rut to get into. And not so easy to get out of! We fall prey to our limiting beliefs, unsupportive habits, and make choices out of fear and scarcity rather than love and abundance.
This causes stress and in turn we sacrifice our well being.
[Tweet “We must consciously make choices on a daily basis that promote our well being if we want to be well.”]
That’s what I’ve discovered anyway. If not, before you know it you are burning the candle at both ends, living a sedentary life, eating prepared foods that are full of toxic ingredients and lack nutrition, gaining weight, not spending time with your family, and doing work that sucks the life out of you. All for…what?
How can we simplify the process of loving our work, being well, and designing a life we don’t need a vacation from?
Here’s one strategy I love to use…
I often ask myself the question, “Is this what I really want?” (and why?) It works with food, with routines, with work, and with relationships. I ask myself the question and then I make a conscious choice about what to do. We can clean things up significantly in our diets, our lifestyle, our work, and in our relationships moment by moment asking that one simple question.
And when the answer is “no” follow with the question, “Then what DO I want?”
[Tweet “These two questions will transform your life.”]
They bring consciousness to your choices and soon you’ll be choosing differently. And things will be different.
This is the art of mindful living.
In a busy world it is easy to make decisions that do not support our well being. We get lost in the hustle.
Therein lies the challenge. How do we apply this principle of conscious decision making and mindful living in our lives and our work and behave in ways that support our well being?
Here is one example: Be intentional about your business including the work you do, who you work with, and your hours. Choose the kind of work you enjoy most, with people you enjoy, during the hours that work best for you.
(It seems obvious but many times we do not do this as you may have noticed in my recent walking dead post).
This month I am wrapping up a group coaching program I’ve been running all year called The Ruby Slipper Society. And I’ve decided to focus on 3 things moving into 2015 – I host monthly VIP clients at Rich, Sexy, And Satisfied Private Retreats, offer online programs for women entrepreneurs, and work with a handful of private clients. The first two programs I create will be for weight loss and wealth building through passive income. They will have groups to support the teaching and transformation.
My hope is to guide each client I work with to love your body and never diet again, to create a haven at home that supports you, and to increase the income, pleasure, and freedom in your business through passive income product creation. This will allow you, like me, to work less, make more money, take better care of yourself and your family, and feel great! You will have the energy and focus you need to consciously create success on your terms.
I’d love to hear if you feel overworked and overwhelmed, and if work is making you gain weight, or if you have a routine that you love. Share your thoughts in the comments below ~
I’d love to know, what is your favorite thing about your work and how can you do it more?
