What if you were already living (some version of) your ideal day?
How cool would that be?
Chances are, if you are already living some version of your ideal day you are going to be pretty happy and content! Because your ideal day encompasses everything you desire. Most of the time, however, an ideal day is thought of as the lifestyle you achieve AFTER you accomplish your goals and dreams. Something that is in the future.
But what if you could live your ideal day now?
How would that feel?
Maybe you can’t have the Tiffany Suite at the St. Regis in New York City every other weekend, YET, but you can book your first flight to New York. You can begin to mingle with New Yorkers. You can begin to develop content for your program. And when you stay with a friend while visiting New York you can treat her to brunch at the St. Regis and tour the Tiffany Suite. You can talk to the hotel manager about hosting an event for staff and see if they offer frequent guests incentives. You can spend time in that space and feel how it feels. You can experience everything you desire, even if not on the level you have envisioned, just yet.
[Tweet “When creating the life of your dreams, everything you desire cannot always be “out there.””] Because, then, it will always be “out there.” Not here.
I challenge you to become more creative, innovative, and open minded about experiencing inspiring and satisfying glimpses of the things you desire, as much as possible, at the same time that you are creating the lifestyle, business, and bank account that will allow for all of it.
Here are a few examples…
Go to lunch or work one day a week in the lobby of your favorite 5 star hotel.
Host clients for a week in your dream home.
Test drive your dream car. More than once.
Wake up without an alarm.
Hire a housekeeper once a month or quarter and build to weekly or bi-weekly.
Buy the best bottle of wine you can and share it with a friend.
Donate generously to someone in need spontaneously, as inspired.
Get enough sleep.
Take time to exercise daily.
Tuck $100 bills in your wallet, dresser, purse, and/or workout bag without intent to spend it. Start with ones and graduate to larger bills if that would be easier.
Remove time-sucking activities from your agenda that do not feed your soul.
Purchase one outfit from Garnet Hill rather than 5 from Target.
Do not scour sales.
Purchase high quality, organic foods as much as you can and try out a personal chef.
Treat yourself to delicious, sexy, top quality exercise clothes from Athleta (or whatever brand you love!).
Plan your weeks and days in a way that feels indulgent and expansive, even if in one small way. Then add on as you go.
Pay yourself first. Get out of debt. Invest in your own financial empowerment and future through education and literal investments.
Hire a mentor to give you the highest current level of support you can manage.
Release stressful people and activities from your life.
Set immensely firm and freeing boundaries.
Become an excellent steward of time.
Surround yourself with beauty and simple comforts like fresh flowers, a clean home, and the best, most luxurious and comfortable bed you can afford.
Live like you are on a vacation. Start with something small and build on it.
Make work easier. Delegate. Streamline. Systemize. Charge more for private consulting and mentoring and do less of it. Choose work that is in your zone of genius, inspires you, feels indulgent in some way, and offers the most value in the simplest, most enjoyable ways for both you and for your clients.
Plan regular personal and professional retreats for yourself as frequently as possible, even if you start with one hour and build to a weekend, a week, a quarter.
Work when you want. Play when you want.

Do not allow your dream to simply remain a dream.
Find small ways to make it real now.
